Previsões económico-sociais do ano que passou, segundo a revista americana Business Week. ( via Almocreve).
Duas das mais espectaculares e que nos fazem lembrar o velho aforismo joaopintiano:
"I expect there will be some failures. … I don't anticipate any serious problems of that sort among the large internationally active banks that make up a very substantial part of our banking system." —Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve chairman, Feb. 28, 2008
A mais espectacular de todas, é esta, do judeu errado:
"In today's regulatory environment, it's virtually impossible to violate rules." —Bernard Madoff, money manager, Oct. 20, 2007
E para 2009, as previsões da revista, já estão aí, fresquinhas como as do ano passado:
Sobre o preço do petróleo:
"There's a fair chance for a resurgence in oil prices, even if they dip below $30 in the next few months. Crude is likely to average $60 or $70 per barrel in 2009".
Sobre o preço das casas:
"Expect home prices to continue to fall through the end of 2009. While the decline will mean trouble for some, for others, it's a golden opportunity to buy."
